Many people are deeply disappointed on arrival here, as they had been led to believe that this resort occupies a prime beachside setting. It emphatically does not. Railay East beach at high tide is attractive enough, but at low tide it becomes a messy and muddy magrove-swamp, with rubbish floating around the water. Whether at high or low tide, not even the most oblivious of bathers would consider taking a dip here.
Quite why this new resort was built here is a mystery. Among local residents it is regarded as a bit of a joke, a 4-star resort in a 1-star setting.
Accommodation
We don't recommend this resort, as we think it's a bad choice. Also, we object to the way that the resort's builders levelled a mature and extremely beautiful coconut tree grove, and replaced them with vast quantities of poured concrete.
Whilst it is a very comfortable and immaculate resort, the prices charged represent very bad value for money, when compared with other high-end places such as the Railay Bay Resort of the Railay Village.
