Thai Wedding

"Those of us who know us will I guess be interested to know that I've finally succeded in persuading Fon to marry me, which is a major result, to say the least, as she's probably the most eligible woman in the country, as well as being so lovable, and having a reasonable car (that's a joke - the car's getting a bit old now).

Those of you who have been here will not be too surprised to learn that weddings are done a bit differentlyin Thailand:

• In typically sensible Thai style, the couple buy the guests presents and the guests give the couple cash - some couples actually make a profit and nobody has to spend ruinous ammounts on the proceedings !

• The main photo shoot happened last week, 3 months before the wedding. Fon got to play dressy-ups with 5 outfits and lots of accessories, including one she's never tried before - a husband (we're actually already legally married). Normally I would have enjoyed having my pic taken about as much as a trip to the dentist, but Fon had such a wonderful time and looked so angelic that I actually, much to my surprise, enjoyed the day.

The pics have not yet been retouched, which will be done as part of the photo package we bought. Apparently so much work is going to be required restoring one of us to some semblence of youth that it's going to take over a month to fix the pix up.
