Similan Day-trip Package
Introduction
 |
There is simply too much amazing diving around Khao Lak to cover in one day, so many divers join a 4-day, 4-night liveaboard cruise. www.liveaboardthailand.com has all the departure dates and prices. |
At a minumum, we recommend divers join a 7-dive, two-day liveaboard package to the Similan Islands, aboard MV Seapearl 3 or M/V Similan.
For those who don't have the time or the funds (Similans diving is far from inexpensive) we offer day-trips to the Similans, which will at least show the diver some of the highlights of the diving there.
|
 |
The Similans are also an excellent if challenging snorkelling destination. The snorkelling here is mainly wall-snorkelling, so people who find deep water underneath them too scary are advised to snorkel the nearby Surins instead. Snorkellers who are not put off by having depths beneath them will have an exciting time snorkelling the Similans, and have the chance to see large fish here - even, for lucky people, manta rays and whale sharks.
Itinerary
 |
For our daily day trips to the Similan Islands the "White Dolphin", a speedboat, equiped with 3 engines, is used as a taxi. |
After a 70 minutes ride, divers reach the "MV / MaNam" a boat which is made for comfort and is cruising from dive site to dive site at the Similans. All the amenities you usually can find on a safari vessel, you will find on this comfortable boat:
- big sun decks for relaxing and sun bathin
- big dive deck
- big saloon with tables and seats
- kitchen to prepare freshly cooked meals
- European-standard toilets and showers
- TV for the video shows
Prices
Similan Islands as a comfort and speed combination 5,900- Baht, 2 dives, all inclusive of equipment.
Snorkellers THB 3,500.

Certification

|
To dive the Similans you should ideally be certified to PADI Advanced Open Water standard. If you are not yet certified to this level, but are certified as PADI Open water, contact us and we can arrange your upgrade, at Khao Lak and before you go on the overnight tour, to PADI Advanced open Water. |
If you are not yet PADI certified, this is not a good place to learn, as the diving is deep and the prices relatively high. You are best advised to learn at Ao Nang instead. For those on a tight budget, the cheapest place to learn to dive is Koh Tao, where the prices are the lowest, but the diving is not as good as that near Ao Nang.
