This mid-range resort is located, in typically idiosyncratic Thai fashion, at the northern end of Koh Lanta. Recently renovated, it is in good shape and is well maintained, and it offers good value for money.
It occupies a prime stretch of Klong Dao beachfront and has a sizable pool and enough space for children to run around. Shadey palm and coconut trees enhance the atmosphere, while providing welcome shade.
While the resort provides a reasonably good selection of food choices, the kitchen can't be described as serving up gourmet food. There is a fast food outlet for burgers and pasta on the beach, which is more of a benefit than it at first seems, especially when you are travelling with children.
All the beachfront buildings are thatched, further enhancing the natural atmosphere of the resort. Whilst no architectural masterpiece, the resort is attractively laid out and is a quality place in which to spend a week or two. It is a good choice for those who want a prime beachfront location, but don't have loads of money to spend.
Accommodation
Superior Beach View
These rooms aren't particularly fancy, but offer nothing particular to complain about either.
While not in 100% immaculate condition, they are clean, fairly smart, and good value.
The best of these units are those nearest the sea, from where the visitor can be sent to sleep by nature's loveliest lullaby, the sound of waves lapping a shore.
Superior Garden View
These rooms are the same as the above, but are further from the sea. From some of them the sea can be heard from the terrace, if you'd like one of these better rooms contact us and we'll find out if the best rooms are still available for your dates.
Family House
These large and comfortable units contain the following (a) a shared living room with seating for 6, which is rather marred by the lurid turquiose tile job above the sink area (b) a large and comfortable master bedroom (c) a large and comfortable triple bedroom (d) a huge terrace.
While the decor isn't great, it's not so bad as to be actively upsetting, making these units a reasonable choice. The best of the 5 units is the one nearest the sea and pool.
Beachfront Suite
The decor in these units is significantly better than the above room types. The rooms come with comfy sofas, and have great beachfront locations. If you're after affordable beachfront accommodation, these are a great bet.
The best of these units is the southernmost one, as it is the only unit which doesn't share a terrace with a neighbour, if you'd like us to see if this particular room is available for your dates, contact us.
Standard Garden View
These units are further from the sea, and nestle amidst a grove of mature coconut trees.
Birdsong is the main sound to be heard in this peaceful corner of the resort, which is a fair way from the pool, making it unpopular with families, and so poplular with couples.
Sountreeya Suite
This isn't a luxury resort, so units this expensive seem out of place. If you can afford one of these units, you're best to stay in a more up-market resort.
Prices
The above rates are net per room per night and inclusive of service charge and breakfast.
