This conveniently located, new resort has already gained a good reputation for service, is pleasingly spotless throughout, and offers some good mid-range accommodation options, free wifi in all rooms and 2 swimming pools.
The rooftop pool offers great sea and mountain views.
The prices are somewhat high for the locations and facilities provided, and better options exist in Ao Nang. Only if the better Ao Nang resorts are full should this resort be considered.
Most of the 40 rooms suffer from a lack of a view and a somewhat claustrophobic feeling, but 4 of the rooms do not, and are currently amongst Ao Nang’s best value accommodation options.
The ground floor pool is long and narrow. This is the pool into which various room types have direct pool access. This pool is so narrow that occupants of these rooms can’t dive into the pool, for fear of bashing into the far side.
Immediately behind the pool, a 3 metre high fence blocks off any view from these ground floor rooms. The narrowness of the ground floor pool, and the lack of a view from the rooms, mean that all the ground floor rooms in this hotel are to be avoided.
Accommodation
All of the rooms in this new hotel are immaculate, and very tastefully decorated. Extensive use of lime-washed woods has been made in the interiors, which results in rooms coloured in a very pleasing tableau of pastel hues. These soft tones form a subtle and muted backdrop to the splashes of vivid colour donated by the handmade throws and pillows that decorate the beds.
Studio
These rooms are located on the 1st and 2nd (counting the ground level floor as the ‘ground floor’, not the ‘1st floor’). It’s best to go for a 2nd floor room (there is a lift) as these rooms have much better views than the 1st floor rooms.
Some of these 2nd floor rooms have seaviews that are obscured behind the 2 Moon Deck rooms (see below), others have pretty good seaviews. The 3 rooms with the best seaviews are the ones nearest the sea (surprise, surprise!). If you’d like, we can request one of these rooms for you. As a locally based agent, we know which the best room number are.
Pool Access
There is a significant problem with all these rooms. The resort is called “The Small” for a reason. Directly in front of all the Pool Access rooms is a narrow strip of pool, then behind that there is a 3 metre high wall which obscures the view and gives these rooms a somewhat claustrophobic feel. There are better pool access rooms available in Ao Nang.
Minisuite
Two of these larger units are located on the 1st floor (the floor above the problematic ground floor), but neither has a good view.
Pool Access Minisuite
There is only one of these units, which is larger than a standard Pool Access room. It offers no views and has a rather closed-in feeling, closely surrounded on 3 sides by the exterior and interior walls of the hotel.
Honeymoon Suite
This bigger room is well equipped, but situated on the undesirable ground floor of the hotel.
Moon Deck
There are only 2 of these great units. Each has a balcony with a seaview, and also a roof terrace, which is accessed by a spiral staircase from within the room. The roof terraces offer great views, not only of the sea, but also of the jungle-clad hillsides behind the resort. One of these 2 units has a terrace which can be overlooked by people in the rooftop pool area. The other unit has a balcony which can’t be overlooked by anybody, so Western visitors can get rid of those annoying white patches of skin (they always make your bum look bigger and your boobs smaller, don’t they?), by sunbathing au naturel.
