Situated right in the middle of chaotic Patong town, the Holiday Inn surprisingly allows one to relax and, although the lush pool garden is flanked on two sides by 5 storey accommodation blocks, light still permeates into the corridors, and even the grotesque concrete fountain statues are easily overlooked.
This is a good place in Patong to take your family if you are looking for some activities that are suitable for your children, as the Holiday Inn has a Kids Club with supervised daily activities, Club 12+ for older kids, separate kids swimming pool and toddlers wading pool, Kids menus and a special under 12’s eat for free with fully paying adult offer.
It isn't a great honeymoon choice due to the presence of lots of children.
Accommodation
Of the 7 room types, we liked only 2.
Superior
The Superior room type is recommended and offers a choice of a king-size bed or two singles. The settee in the king-size room converts into a day bed accommodating 2 children less than 12 yrs old.
The bathrooms are subtly but brightly lit and have an interesting screen door that opens onto the shower from the bed room. The person in the shower has no control over this door, which is a novel design idea – honeymooners will no doubt have fun here.
Family Suite
The Family Suite is recommended and incorporates a Superior room for the parents (as described above) and an adjoining kid’s themed room, allowing the parents a break from excited children in the evenings.
The room comes complete with games console, removable bean bags, play things and pirate ship beds. The suite is suitable for families with children under 12. The Kid’s Suite is the same as above but with a much smaller kids room and therefore is only suitable for families with small children.
Prices
The above rates are net per room per night and inclusive of service charge.
