This resort was one of the first to be constructed on Patong beach 25 years ago, so it has its own stretch of beachfront - a prize indeed in Patong. Older resorts tend to be rather scruffy, but not so this one, which was completely renovated 10 years ago.
The result of this transformation has been a contemporary resort with plush reception furnishings upon a granite floor (which really helps to keep the temperature down during the heat of the day), large pools, airy restaurants and modern rooms with fantastic views right across Patong bay.
Occupying the southernmost end of Patong beach, the resort is mostly built upon the headland to the south of Patong, far enough away from the downtown scene for it to be peaceful, but near enough to afford easy access.
Surrounded but not engulfed by nature, you really get the feeling that the management have put their hearts and minds into this resort. In reception there are a number of bird-less cages, which is perhaps an indication of the mindset here.
The 2 restaurants offer sparkling views of night-time Patong accompanied by the complementing sounds of the waterfall behind and the lapping waves in front. During the high season, the jetty that thrusts out to sea from the nearby headland offers a private eatery with 16 seats. The resort has only a small beach but has 2 large pools. There is also parking in the resort for rental cars, a nice provisions.
Accommodation
There are 3 room types here, Superior, Deluxe and Suite.
Superior
We recommend the Superior rooms, which are located in 3 buildings on 2 floors. All the rooms in 2 of the buildings offer good views. The rooms on the top floor of the third building offer good views, but the downstairs rooms in this building do not.
Contact us for a room with a view. For families the Superior rooms offer the option of booking connecting rooms.
Deluxe
The Deluxe rooms have slightly better furnishings and offe a little more space than the Superior, but also unfortunately a big leap in price.
Suite
The Suites are not worth their price tag, being similarly furnished to the two lesser room types and offering only a private sun terrace as extra, at nearly double the price.
Prices
The above rates are net per room per night and inclusive of service charge.
