The only reason this hotel has a page on this site is that, for some reason, it ranks quite highly on tripadvisor.com. This hotel is a great example on why travellers should not rely on tripadvisor, as the rankings on there can be relatively easily manipulated by hotel owners. In Thailand, most hotels submit regular bogus reviews about themselves, in order to push themselves up the rankings. Presumably the Silom City hotel is good at this, which is why it rates reasonably highly on tripadvisor. Well, at least the hotel is good at something, because it certainly isn't much good for anything else.
This worn-out, smelly hotel was overdue a renovation about a decade ago. The hotel claims to have been renovated recently, but this was just a superficial job, and didn't fix the problems, which nothing short of a full refit will fix. All the smelly bathroome need ripping out, all the cigarette-holed furniture, plastic beds and clanking air-cons need binning, and all the plaster should be replaced.
Right now, this hotel is one to avoid like the plague.
The hotel is located in seedy Silom zone, so fat old men getting into the elevators with skimpily-clad teenage girls are not an uncommon sight.
Accommodation
Deluxe
These rooms are located on the 4th to 8th floors. The noisy air-cons, plastic bed-heads, stained walls, wornout furniture and dirty carpets make these just about the worst rooms on this website. If you are considering staying here, don't do it to yourself, stay home instead.
Deluxe Plus
These rooms are not quite as awfull as the Deluxe, but are still not at all nice in any way.
Suite
These are certainly the worst suites on this website. Whatever you do, don't waste your money on one of these.
Prices
The above rates are net per room per night and inclusive of service charge and breakfast for 2 people.
