Cha Da Resort, Koh Lanta

Independant Review

One of the most family-friendly resorts on Koh Lanta, the Cha Da resort on Khlong Dao Beach also has one room type that is ideal for couples. The resort’s great taste and stylish décor will please parents, whilst the open spaces and two jumbo-sized pools will keep children happily busy for hours. This resort is popular with families, and honeymooners may find that there are rather too many small children running around, unless they stay in one of the resort’s more secluded Diamond Villas (see below for more).

Accommodation

Silver and Gold Suites

These suites are identical in layout. The Gold Suites are on the ground floor and have pool access terraces, whilst the Silver Suites are on floor above and have balconies. The layout of these suites in far from ideal. The bedroom is situated at the back nearest the door, with the bathroom in the middle and a small TV lounge nearest the terrace or balcony, in which an extra bed can be placed. The TV lounge is cramped and the layout means that the bedrooms are rather gloomy. Whilst these room types are not particularly highly recommended, children won’t care about the lack of light in the main bedroom, and will absolutely love the Gold Suite’s direct pool access.

Platinum Suite

These 2 bedroom apartments overlook one of the resort’s pools, so parents can supervise their children from their balconies. They are rather an expensive option.

Emerald Suite

Huge and well-appointed, these suites have 2 bedrooms, with an extra bed possible in both bedrooms. They are a great choice for families.

Diamond Villa

These villas are one of the best choices for honeymooners on Koh Lanta. The partial sea-view is nothing to write home about, but these pool villas are beautifully decorated and fairly private. They are located away from the pools and family accommodation so, whilst there are a few children running around, these villas are out of earshot of all the children in the pools.
