Pavilion Queen’s Bay Resort

Introduction

Pavilion Queen's Bay is a luxury resort perched atop a hill and overlooking both the white sands of Ao Nang and Hat Nopparat Thara beaches and the breathtaking karst rock formations that separate Ao Nang from the Railay peninsula.

Since it was built 8 years ago the vegetation has had time to reach a pleasing height, making the hotel a green and lovely place. Whilst the walkways and some of the exterior show some signs of wear, the rooms themselves are immaculate, except for the balcony floor-tiles, some of which have inexplicably been left spattered in paint waste from the rooms’ recent redecoration.

Built in a style inspired by palatial Thai architecture, the lobby is particularly elegant, centred around a Cambodian water goddess statue, who is herself surrounded by worshippers and water-lillies.

Montientong Restaurant

Located on the top level of the hotel with a great view, the hotel’s main restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Breakfast is adequate unless you like brown bread, if you do then contact us and we’ll deliver you a fresh loaf on arrival. Most guests eat lunch out on a day-trip or by the pool and then dine out, click here for a map.

Otohime Japanese Restaurant

This is the best Japanese restaurant in Ao Nang, but fanatic sushi aficionados may be slightly disappointed – the food here is very good, but it’s not absolutely brilliant.

Sunset Pool Bar

A great place for an evening drink while keeping half an eye on the children in the pool.

Montra Spa

The spa is elegantly decorated and competently staffed. A standard massage here will cost about 8 times as much as in one of the nearby massage shops, but will be of a much more reliable  quality, as the quality in the massage shops is very hit and miss.

Swimming Pool

Pavilion Queen’s Bay has a 3-levelled swimming pool that has a view over Ao Nang Bay and Noppharat Thara Beach National Park. The top level is big enough for exercising, whilst the children’s pool is at the bottom level – there is also a pool bar on this level, so you can keep an eye on the little ones while relaxing with a drink.

Fitness Room

The fitness room, whilst small, is air-conditioned and is fully equipped with a basic selection of cardio machines, weight machines, free weights and a satellite television with remote control.

Rooms

All 106 rooms at Pavilion Queen’s Bay are tastefully decorated in silk and Thai artefacts. Some of the rooms provide a reasonable view of the Andaman Sea, whilst from others the sea-view is mostly screened by trees and may disappoint you. For a room with a view, contact us – our office is only 1 km away, so we’ll pop round and make sure you get the best room possible, or if a good room is unavailable, advise you on the many alternatives available elsewhere in Ao Nang. The rooms feature large balconies with very comfortable swing beds, which are so comfortable that time flies by as quickly as for a baby being gently rocked in a mother’s embrace, whilst being lulled by the birdsong surrounding the hotel.

The ‘Pavilion Suites’ dining rooms lack sufficient windows and so are rather dark, making the suites little more luxurious than the ‘Superior’ and ‘Deluxe’ rooms, and therefore not recommended. The ‘Pavilion Suite’, ‘Deluxe, and ‘Superior’ rooms have areas of 98 sqm, 66 sqm and 50 sqm respectively. The suites have a separate bedroom and living room, with spacious bathrooms that overlook lush tropical forests down the hill on which the hotel is situated. All rooms and suites feature the usual modern day accoutrements; satellite television, radio, in-room safe, mini-bar, direct dial telephone, coffee & tea making facilities, room service, laundry and dry cleaning.
